Are you a light bulb or a laser beam?

A mentor of mine recently had a chance to meet with someone who is famous and who shared their philosophy about businesses. As it turns out, the famous person is Mat Franco, a magician who won America's Got Talent and won $1,000,000 prize money. He said that the “laser beam” was the focus that allowed him to win America's Got Talent.

He believes that a business is either a light bulb or a laser beam. Laser beams are just light bulbs that find their focus. In order to get the business he sought, he decided to become THE expert in card tricks. He even had to force himself to come up with more and more creative card illusions.

So by choosing to focus and eliminate distractions and wasted efforts, this magician turned into a national talent and the recipient of a $1 million prize. Imagine what becoming a laser beam can do for your business.
